The spinning wheel breakdown of last week definitely hampered my spinning output, coupled with the swift arrival of...the wrong part to fix it! Luckily, it was just an honest mix-up and the correct part is on its way to me. At least, I hope it is - the error was on the end of the shipper, so here's hoping they don't make the same mistake twice!
Thankfully, the point of the Tour de Fleece isn't to spin as much yardage as possible - if this had happened during Spinzilla, I would probably be having another in a series of meltdowns right about now. Instead, I'm just trying to enjoy the process of spinning each day and feeling thankful that I do have a second wheel which I enjoy using every bit as much as my Victoria. Over the weekend, I spun singles from 8 oz. of superwash merino/nylon from Cloudlover in a special colorway called Quick's Point:
I have yet to ply them together because I got completely distracted by a huge box of fiber which arrived on Monday from Louet:
I'll be sharing more about this July Spinzilla Fiber Pack on Friday, but I did start spinning some of the Dark Coopworth which was included:
When I wasn't spinning or trying to get caught up on chores and work over the weekend, I was knitting tiny critters for my review and giveaway for Anna Hrachovec's Adventures in Mochimochi Land book which posted earlier this week (click here if you missed it!). That didn't leave a whole lot of time to work on other projects, so there hasn't been much progress on the project I shared last week, One Fine Day by Bobbi Intveld:
I didn't realize initially, but there is some errata for this pattern as well - luckily, I found out about it early on and didn't have to rip back too much! It's a really fun knit and perfect for late-night knitting sessions when I am all spun out.
Deal Alert: I just got print copies of the 2014 and 2015 special issues of Knitscene Accessories (which are usually $14.99!!) for five bucks. Shipping actually cost more than the combined total of the magazines themselves, but even so, my grand total was less than the cover prize of just one magazine. I'm counting that as a win for this week! The Digital and Print Magazines sale at Interweave ends 7/16/15!

Bummer about your wheel, but lovely spinning nonetheless! Can't wait to hear what's in the June box.
