I'm pretty excited to share my new projects this week! I feel like I'm always fighting off startitis, but so far this year I've been pretty good about finishing projects before I start new ones. Over the weekend, I finished Tyler's never-ending scarf of doom (which I'll be sharing this Friday!) and made some serious progress on my #HKKAL top, too:
Once Tyler's scarf was blocking, I felt pretty good about starting not ONE but TWO new projects! First, I wanted something simple I could work on while riding the bus, so I finally cast on for a Berlin Cowl of my own since the original sample is a display piece for Baah yarn.
I actually went to one of my knitting groups on Sunday afternoon, so I thought it would be fun to start a new project. I'd purchased two skeins of Terra from WEBS at the beginning of the year so that I could knit the Vorderrhein Hat from Vintage Modern Knits, and now seemed like as good of a time as any to start it!
Last but not least, Spinning Spring Training started yesterday, so I dusted off my wheel and started working on the largest spinning project I have on my to-do list for the spin-along: one pound of Louet Dorper top. I so enjoyed spinning this fiber for Spinzilla last fall that I bought more of it in the hopes that I could collectively spin a sweater's worth of yarn! There isn't much to see just yet, but I did make this fun collage with a free app called InstaFrame to declare my stash!
Tonight I won't be getting much crafting done, however, as my band Shalloboi is playing our first show of 2014 (and we aren't planning on playing too many more) at the Red Line Tap. If you aren't local to Chicago, you can check out our Bandcamp page for free streams & downloads of our releases if you are so inclined.

That Terra yarn is lovely, it's going to be great for that hat. I need to organize my goals for that spinning training! So many spin-a-longs happening...
